The effects of Intensif® will last indefinitely with maintenance treatments.

How Long Does It Take to Recover from Intensif®?

It takes roughly a day to recover from Intensif®. After your treatment, you will appear to have warm and tight sun burnt skin; this is entirely normal and will dissipate within a few hours.

What Is Intensif®?

Intensif® is a revolutionary skin treatment that uses microneedles to deliver radio-frequency energy deep into the dermis, the layer of skin located beneath the surface. This unique technique uses energy to promote the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, two vital proteins responsible for keeping skin looking young and healthy. Over time, as this specialized radio-frequency energy works its way into the targeted tissue, it encourages new, younger-looking skin to replace it. Thanks to Intensif®, achieving a youthful and radiant complexion has never been easier or more effective!

Are You a Candidate for Intensif®?

Intensif® can be used on the face or body and all skin types. It’s an ideal treatment for those who want to improve their appearance without undergoing surgery.

Benefits of Intensif®

Intensif® is a cutting-edge microneedling therapy that uses unique technology to deliver superior results compared to regular microneedling treatments. Those with the following areas of concern can benefit from Intensif®:

What Are the Risks for Intensif®

Some risks are associated with an Intensif® treatment, but pain and inflammation at the injection site are most common. There is a risk of infection or scarring if the patient does not follow proper care post-treatment. Due to these potential risks, it is essential to follow post-treatment instructions by your Skin Technique specialist to minimize possible complications.

How to Prepare for Intensif®

Before your treatment, there are certain precautions that you should take to ensure the best results:

  • Stay out of the sun for at least 24 hours
  • Do not use Retin-A products for 12 hours
  • Do not wear makeup on the day of your appointment

Arrive with clean skin, and ensure the area is clean-shaven. If you are dealing with acne, eczema or cold sore breakout, please call Skin Technique to see if your appointment needs to be rescheduled.

What to Expect Post Intensif®

Unlike traditional laser treatments, Intensif uses a fractional delivery system to target only a small skin area at a time. This helps to minimize the risk of side effects and downtime. Immediately after the treatment, you will appear to have sunburnt skin.

Your skin will feel warm and tighter than usual, but this is normal, and the redness will fade after a few hours. You may also experience some swelling, crusting, or peeling in the treated area. These side effects are temporary and will resolve within a few days.

Intensif® Recovery & Timeline

After 48 hours, clients can resume their usual skincare routine. After your procedure, any serum applied to your face should stay on the face overnight. Some patients feel that sunscreen may feel irritating, but it is necessary after the first few days after treatment. Direct sunlight should be kept to a minimum for at least 3 days.

If your Intensif® treatment was done on a sensitive area, there might be slight bruising, but it will subside within 3-4 days. Any scabs that appear on the treated site should not be picked and are a normal process of the healing stage. Results will be seen within 1 – 4 weeks.

How does Dr. Christopher Pavlou perform an Intensif® Treatment?

This popular procedure involves the application of microneedles to the skin, which penetrate the outer layer to deliver targeted energy directly into the dermis. Each treatment session typically takes around 45-60 minutes, during which active energy is delivered to the skin in slow, even pulses. Since each person’s skin condition is unique, a series of Intensif® treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart are typically required to achieve optimal results.

Our team works closely with each patient to create a customized treatment plan that caters to their specific needs and concerns. Microneedling with Radio Frequency Skin Tightening and/or PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

We recommend combining treatments such as microneedling with our radio frequency skin tightening and our PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment for specific solutions to skin concerns, such as reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

Using precise needles, microneedling stimulates the replacement of surface skin cells, revealing young, glowing skin underneath, while RF Skin Tightening stimulates the body’s natural collagen. When we integrate PRP (platelet rich plasma) to the mix, the growth factors cause an increase in tissue healing and overall skin rejuvenation.
