Rosacea is a skin condition where there is persistent facial redness, visible blood vessels or for some people pimples. Like many skin conditions, rosacea can also cause a variety of emotional anxieties from embarrassment to low self-esteem.
At Skin Technique we want to have our patients feeling like the best version of themselves. Luckily, we have two unique treatments to help with Rosacea.
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a common skin condition that affects millions of people around the world. While it can occur at any age, it is most commonly seen in middle-aged adults. Rosacea typically begins with the appearance of redness on the cheeks, nose, or forehead. The redness may come and go at first, but it eventually becomes permanent. Other common symptoms of rosacea include small bumps and pimples, inflammation, and thickening of the skin.
What Causes Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic and often progressive disorder that primarily affects the face. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, but it is thought to be due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Rosacea tends to run in families, indicating that there may be a genetic predisposition for the condition.
Environmental factors that may contribute to rosacea include exposure to sunlight, wind, temperature extremes, and emotional stress. Rosacea can also be triggered by certain foods, beverages, and skincare products. Common triggers include alcohol, spicy food, hot drinks, and caffeine.
Fair-skinned people who have a family history of the condition may be more likely to develop it. There is no cure for rosacea, but there are treatments that can help to control the symptoms.

How Long Does It Take for Rosacea Treatment to Work?
Topical medications and oral antibiotics typically take 4-8 weeks to start working. However, it can take up to 12 weeks for the full effects to be realized. Laser therapy usually requires multiple sessions before results are visible. However, many people report significant improvements after just one or two treatments. Ultimately, the length of time it takes for rosacea treatment to work will vary from person to person. But with patience and perseverance, most people are able to find a treatment that works for them.
