EMSculpt vs. CoolSculpting®: A Quick Comparison
If you’ve struggled with stubborn excess fat but don’t want to undergo invasive surgeries to get rid of it, CoolSculpting® or EMSculpt might be the perfect solutions. Both of these treatments are safe and effective and can help you achieve the body you’ve always wanted.
What is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® is a revolutionary, non-invasive body-contouring technique that uses cold temperatures to reduce excess fat in targeted body areas. This safe treatment is popular for patients looking to achieve a more sculpted and toned appearance without undergoing surgery or other invasive treatments. CoolSculpting® works by targeting specific areas of fat cells with controlled cooling energy. When the body’s temperature is lowered, the CoolSculpting® treatment destroys the fat cells which will not come back.
SkinTechnique is proud to offer CoolSculpting® treatment packages to its patients.
Why Get CoolSculpting®?
If you are looking for a non-invasive way to slim and shape the body while getting rid of stubborn pockets of fat, CoolSculpting® is an excellent option for you. You will enjoy noticeable results in 2-3 months, it treats many areas of the body, and there is no downtime after the procedure.
What is EMSculpt?
EMSculpt is a cutting-edge body sculpting and contouring machine in a body-contouring class of its own. It is the first FDA-cleared energy device approved to burn fat and build muscle mass. EMSculpt contracts your muscles through focused electromagnetic energy and, in response, the muscle reconstructs itself and fat cells in the area are eliminated.
The new EMSculpt NEO device builds even more muscle and burns more fat by combining RF and HIFEM+ energies. Clinical studies show an average of 25% muscle volume increase and a 30% reduction in fat. With EMSculpt NEO, you are left with lean, sculpted results.
SkinTechnique is proud to offer EMSculpt NEO treatments to its patients.
Why Get Emsculpt NEO?
Instead of getting rid of pockets of fat like CoolSculpting®, EMSculpt NEO tones the muscles. EMSculpt NEO induces more than 20,000 supramaximal contractions in 30 minutes. This is the equivalent of 20,000 crunches! EMSculpt NEO builds new muscle fibers while toning the existing ones – fat reduction is not the goal of this procedure.
EMSculpt NEO provides long-lasting results with no downtime, a quick procedure time, and defined muscles.
Combining the Treatments
Combining CoolSculpting® and EMSculpt NEO can help you achieve optimal results and the dream body you’ve always wanted. If you want to minimize fat in certain areas and follow up by toning the muscles you form after that fat loss, these two treatments are perfect for you.
When you combine these two treatments, you can contour your body in a way that helps you achieve excellent results. And because they are both non-invasive, you will have no downtime.
If you want to combine these treatments for something else, you can pair CoolSculpting® or EMSculpt NEO with cellulite reduction to achieve that toned, smooth look.
EMSculpt NEO vs. CoolSculpting® Cost Difference
The cost of CoolSculpting® ranges from $750 – $1500. We recommend you schedule at least two treatments 1-2 months apart.
EMSculpt NEO treatments cost just $4000 for a package of four at SkinTechnique.
However, the best way to know the exact price of the treatment you choose is to book a consultation with a licensed clinic and experienced team who will help you pick one or both treatments and discuss costs based on your goals and eligibility.

EMSculpt vs. CoolSculpting® Results
CoolSculpting®
The process of fat freezing is a non-invasive way to remove unwanted fat cells from the body. The treatment involves cooling the fat cells to a temperature that disrupts their structure and causes them to die.
Once the fat cells have been safely cooled to a temperature that disrupts their structure, they are marked for removal by the body’s immune system. Once these cells have left the body they are gone for good. However, CoolSculpting® is a body contouring treatment, not a weight loss treatment. If weight is gained, bulges may return.
The CoolSculpting® fat-freezing procedure is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.
Shortly after the procedure is complete, you may feel other sensations, including stinging and tingling. Your skin may show minor signs of swelling or bruising on the site treated.
EMSculpt
Some patients report seeing results immediately after the treatment, with significant results seen two to four weeks after their last session, with continued improvement for several weeks following the treatment. Results will last indefinitely for the fat loss, and the increase in muscle is long-lasting, typically over six months.
You can return to regular activity immediately after the session. Follow-up appointments will be conducted every 4-5 days. The EMSculpt NEO gives optimal results 2 to 4 weeks after the last session, with continued improvement for several weeks following the last treatment.
With EMSculpt, the increase in muscle typically lasts six months or longer, depending on your lifestyle. Patients who partake in a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and conscious food choices will enjoy long-lasting results!

Fat Reduction vs. Muscle Building
CoolSculpting® rids your treatment areas of excess pockets of fat that are too stubborn to get rid of with diet and exercise alone. This fat reduction treatment lowers the body’s temperature, which destroys fat cells.
With EMSculpt, your treatment goal is to tone the muscles already there. There are minimal fat-reducing effects, and the point of the treatment is to tone your muscles for a built appearance that could only otherwise be achieved by doing a crazy amount of crunches in a short amount of time – and with EMSculpt, you enjoy your muscle building for a long time after the procedure.
The Verdict: Which is the Better Option?
If you are looking to get rid of excess fat and stubborn pockets of fat in certain areas of your body, CoolSculpting® is a great treatment option for you. However, if you’re looking to tone already existing muscle and have that muscle-building effect last for a long time, EMSculpt is the way to go.
