Top 5 Questions to Discuss with Your Doctor Before Getting Lip Fillers at Skin Technique
We are often plagued by photos of individuals with lips that look overdone and unnatural. This can make getting lip fillers feel daunting.
But that isn’t the purpose of these injectables.
This minimally invasive treatment can enhance your natural lip beauty, providing subtle volume and shape. It can also boost your confidence, with fuller lips that look and feel entirely natural.
A thorough discussion with your professional provider is the first step to getting beautiful and authentic results. At Skin Technique, we pride ourselves in honouring your natural beauty. Like our before and afters, we like to be conservative with our lip fillers.
Our injectors have amazing before and afters of lips performed daily at the clinic. We have also undergone extensive training to learn the best techniques in the industry.
In this post, you’ll find out the important questions to ask your doctor or nurse practitioner during your consultation before getting lip fillers, including “How much do lip injections cost?”. This will help you know what to expect, make informed choices and understand how this procedure can benefit you.
Let’s get started.
How can I get natural-looking lip fillers?
To achieve lip fillers that look natural, we ensure you’re in the most skilled hands – our professionals, who are both precise and intentional, see this as an art form, with each face being a unique canvas. Your facial anatomy is considered to ensure the best results.
Also, because some brands offer fuller or more subtle versions, the amount of filler injected affects the results. Our injector will look at your facial features and natural proportions and recommend a specific amount of filler that will look natural and well-proportioned compared to the rest of your features. This is key for a natural and balanced look.
How much do lip injections cost?
The largest indicator of filler cost is the number of syringes used.
We will have these transparent discussions with you during our initial consultation so you can make an informed decision based on your goals and budget considerations.
How long do lip fillers last?
Fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.
This depends on factors such as individual metabolism and lifestyle.

Does filler hurt?
The answer to this is “It depends.” The amount of pain experienced can vary from minimal discomfort to mild pain during the procedure.
This depends on individual pain tolerance, the injector’s technique and whether a numbing agent is applied. We offer a very potent numbing cream applied to the lips.
When would lip fillers not be recommended?
If you’ve had lip fillers within the past 2 weeks. Also, if you and your injector disagree with the treatment plan. We also wouldn’t recommend it if you have planned dental work in the next two weeks (or had dental work 2 weeks ago) or if you are attending an event in the next 2 – 3 weeks. Plan ahead, 4 weeks would be ideal but minimum 2 weeks should you experience and bruising or swelling.
