The HALO hybrid fractional laser combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths delivered to the same microscopic treatment zone to maximize clinical results and minimize downtimes. In plain terms, it uses lasers to activate the body’s healing and collagen-producing systems in the skin along a closely targeted path. This causes fresh, younger skin to develop in the targeted area. HALO is safe and effective while providing an enhanced patient experience.

HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing Before & After Photos
Depending on the treatment, the effects can be permanent. Some spots may result from genetic information or permanent spots. This means that they can reassert themselves after a certain amount of time. Typically, HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing lasts for 5 years or more.
How Long Does It Take to Recover from HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing?
The recovery time to heal from the procedure is typically 5-7 days. If you want to go back to work immediately, you can do so as long as you take some steps to protect your skin from bright sunlight. The procedure is mildly uncomfortable, and you may experience some puffiness and redness post procedure.

What Are the Risks for HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing
The team at Skin Technique ensures all of our clients are well taken care of to ensure minimal discomfort. With over ten years of practice, Dr. Christopher Pavlou and his team are exceptionally trained in injectables, making the risk of a significant complication extremely low. However, in some cases, Halo™ treatments may cause mild side effects such as redness, swelling and inflammation on the site after the procedure.
How to Prepare for HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing
Before you arrive at Skin Technique for your HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing treatment, you must take a few precautionary measures before your appointment. This ensures more effective results and good recovery.
The week before, patients must discontinue any products that contain active ingredients such as:
Retinol
Glycolic Acid
Vitamin A
Salicylic Acid
AHAs
LHAs
Benzoyl Peroxide
Stop any hydroquinone treatments at least 3 days before your appointment.
Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment areas for 2 weeks before treatment.
Arrive at your appointment with a clean face, with no makeup.
What to Expect Post HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing
After the treatment has ended, you’ll feel some sensitivity and the treated area will appear flushed and perhaps a little swollen. Don’t worry; this will soon wear off. You’ll be given a few care instructions to protect your results, and you’ll be ready to go.
HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing Recovery & Timeline
The recovery time to heal from the procedure is typically 5-7 days. You should begin to see results 2 to 5 days post-treatment, with definitive results within 2 to 3 weeks. Within the first few days, you may experience light shedding of the skin on the area treated, but this will subside quickly.
How does Dr. Christopher Pavlou perform HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing
There are two parts to the treatment. First, there will be a short numbing period where a proprietary medical-grade topical cream is applied to the treatment area and given time to take effect. After that, you will be able to sit down and relax while the laser does its work. The numbing medicine is usually sufficient to prevent extreme discomfort, but some patients report a mild stinging sensation.

HALO™ Fractional Resurfacing FAQs
How does fractional resurfacing work on problem areas?
Certain spots of redness and uneven tones that appear on the skin are a result of unexpected damage or stress. These spots may also be identifiable by calluses or other unpleasant textures that developed because of scraping or burns.
Fractional resurfacing works by burning a tiny column into the skin. This activates healing mechanisms that tell the body that the entire nearby problem area needs to be healed with new skin. As a result, the body replaces unsightly skin that was ignored before.
How long does each appointment last?
Between the check-in, the numbing and the procedure itself, it is wise to plan for about a two-hour visit. Most visits will not take that long.
How many visits will it take for me to see results?
Our laser is a combination of the old ablative and non-ablative models, and the mixture of CO2 and Erbium lasers means that it takes fewer treatments than in the past to solve most issues. With this modern device, one treatment is going to be effective for most problems. Two treatments may be recommended for certain problems.
How do I begin fractional resurfacing treatments?
